The Senior Singalong
The Senior Singalong completed its first season, broadcasting twice weekly on WTJX, the Virgin
Islands’ PBS station from November through to May. This program brought engagement to
community elders through televised choir rehearsals directed by Winifred Powell, with singers
Lucia Francis, Gwenavire Hyndman, Bodicea Gordon, and Michael Goodwin. As many seniors throughout the Virgin Islands are housebound, this program provided a creative outlet, mental and physical stimulation, and a heavy dose of humor!
For 2021-2022, this program was made possible, in part, by the generous support of Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts.
For the 2022-2023 season, this program was funded entirely by the Hodge Senior Citizen Fund through the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands!
